Design Ideas For Lot 2

I'm thinking that Lot 2 should be developed in conjunction with the main house on Lot 3. The landscaping and outdoor architecture surrounding the main house should be designed with Lot 2 in mind so that both Lots feel like one big Lot.

The main purpose of Lot 2 is to provide solar energy for the main house; the PV system will be grid-tied to the utility meter on Lot 3. Ground mounting the solar panels and making it a "solar farm" is a bad idea because it would take up much of the open space on Lot 2 and look ugly, so my idea is to create some sort of outdoor living space (which we talked about doing anyways like an open stage for performances, a gazebo for reading or gardening, or a breezeway for yoga and exercise) and mounting our PV system on the roof of whatever structure gets built. Besides an outdoor stage/cafe/gazebo and a detached garage on Lot 2, I also see a small "Garden Center" being built not far from the main house.

Here's a cool idea for mom's hydroponic gardening space, the Potting House Shed

Or if we want to get a little fancier, you can go with the SunHouse

Any thoughts about these ideas?
